Ramesh, 12, was brought to the clinic due to hair loss, Loss as he used to constantly pull out his hair. He was suffering with Trichotillomania, a psychological disorder that causes people to pull out hair from their head and other parts of the body to the extent that it causes patches of baldness.
Ramesh started to pull his hair ever since he was 10 years of age which eventually led to patches of baldness at the right side of his head (Right Temporal region) with visible stumps of broken hair in the affected area. Walking around with patches of baldness subjected Ramesh to taunts from children. At school, mates would tease him, “You look like an old man” which used to embarrass Ramesh.
Hair pulling typically starts in childhood, often because of anxiety or boredom. Adults who suffer from this disease suffer from depression and children usually have academic difficulties as said by the experts.
Treatment options include medication and behavior therapy, and research suggests a combination of both is the most effective. Trichotillomania is also considered as a kind of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) by some experts.
After taking a brief history from parents, friends and studying Ramesh’s behavioral pattern, social interactions/relations, strong unchanged innate characters a Homeopathic Medicine was prescribed to him.
After 4 months of Homeopathic treatment Ramesh and his parents got thrilled with the progress he has made with his hair system. He's done so well, indeed, that his hair finally grew back.
Ramesh is not pulling his hair anymore since then! It has been two successful years for Ramesh without this disorder; he also started scoring better marks in school.Thanx to the sweet wonder pills!!
